Haredi fertility in the United States is exceptionally high and shows no sign of decline: Yiddish speakers in the American Community Survey, a widely used proxy for Ultra-Orthodox Jews, averaged a total fertility rate of about 6.5 children per woman over 2000-2021, with annual point estimates ranging from about 4 to 9. This is around quadruple the US average of about 1.6. Survey-based estimates from Pew (2013), JPPI (2011), and the Ruppin Institute (2024) corroborate the 6-7 range, while Hebrew-speaking Israeli immigrants saw fertility fall from about 3.7 to 2.8 over the same period.
